While avoiding being predictably mellow-dramatic, that is the only word I can place on myself and my surroundings this last week. The word has a lot of beauty in it…as it reflects the immense bond and limitless love I, and those around me have had for Charlie.


My closest and highest-respected friend, too modest to accept how much I’ve envied his ability to make light of even the most drab situation, his unlimited playfulness, his contagious sense of humor, impeccable manners, and most of all, his almost magical ability, without prejudice, to make every man and woman in his presence smile from ear to ear.
